Steal like an Artist!

Hand lettered in color markers and digitized by equin-co™

A while ago, I saw Artists’ “golden rules” or “habits” if you like.

An awesome book is named “Steal like an Artist” by Austin Kleon. Read more about it here.

Being creative was thought wrong all along!

I simply love love LOVE everything this booklet of ideas has to offer! It’s basically pure artist common sense put to words!

I have awesome quotes to illustrate later on, now! Great source of quotes 🙂

A page from the book, you can come across it often on Pinterest.

Have a great and Creative week, everyone !

Change is Important!

Image

Hello folks !!

Today’s inspirational quote is, “change your thoughts and your world will change.”

Lots of people are unaware of this simple fact, but it is so effective, knowing we stumble ourselves into the situations we currently hate, as a result of a once very needed occasion.

This “mantra” or philosophy if you will, like any other perfected habits, requires practice. Repetition and decisiveness are the key to permanent results.

I hope this inspires you to begin your own process of whatever-you-like !!

Cheers. xx

Everything has Beauty…

Hand lettered and digitized -equinco-all rights are saved.

I am a firm believer that everything around us exude beauty. Not the limited, one-way kind, but beauty of all sorts, all forms and shapes.

So as the cliche goes, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”, I do agree to this whole heartedly. The description of beauty is as limited or as broad as the observer/describer of any medium.

This is a famous quote by Confucius, a Chinese philosopher and a personal inspiration to me. Check out more about him and his inspirational quotes here.

I will go a pinch further by saying what may or may not be right or wrong, beautiful and ugly, good or bad, we simply don’t KNOW! Seriously, far far back, society enforced some kind of rule book to decide which is which. (which, by the way, has restored faith in humanity by constantly expanding and taboo breaking by the day) (

As in a more spiritual way, I can say that If one raises oneself to see the most extraordinary beauty in the most ugliest person (figurative speech! As I, don’t even believe there is such thing as UGLY!) than that means humanity has come a LONG way, and there is hope for peaceful generations and prosperity.

I came to realization that world, as we know it, has been constantly changing towards a more perceptive way, rather than solely relying on physical features and monetary success.

This, eventually contribute to evolution process, and we, humans, may have a tiny hope into ascending towards manifestation of great things.

My lettering is an artsy way of merely symbolizing my “heavy” friday post… :)))

I am feeling a little emotional *especially* today, folks!

I hope you enjoy today’s lettering and have a LOVELY weekend !

I only miss you when I’m Breathing.. aaah.

Hand lettered in ink on paper and digitized caption “I only miss you when i’m breathing”

Proceeding with song lyrics…

Today’s song is “Breathing” by Jason Derulo. I’m all for listening to mainstream radio and pop music at the moment, so, sorry this is all you get guys.

🙂

But I do like the lyrics of this song, and you can listen to it here.

I have felt like I miss someone like, as I’m breathing, every second. I know lots of people who have felt the same, so this gooey romantic piece goes for all of us 🙂

Not necessarily suffering, though. You can still miss and love someone without the pain and the drama, just sheer joy and sweet blues when you are not around them. (You know I like to keep things light’n’happy, come on.)

So, enjoy today’s drawing!

Cheers and happy week!

You think you are Special?

"you think you are Special?" hand lettering in color

Although this might come off as “so you think you’re something, huh?” it actually is not. It’s merely a poking question where I am intentionally asking if you think you are special.

I always thought anyone is special, in their own way.

I mean, someone may have talent in music, some in painting, some in maths, and some in people skills. Some even may not know it until they are grown up, but one must never lose faith and hope in means of discovering their own spark.

I studied Advertising and PR in university, but I always dreamed of designing and drawing and creating stuff. Whether you are a curator or a collaborator or the artist himself, It’s so important to “create” something in a world where nearly all people consume and drain all resources.

Not that I don’t do it from time to time 🙂

Anyway, this piece goes for everyone who may or may not think they are special, because I know you are!

happy weeks! xx

Hands up in the air, People who don’t Work!

A job you love=never working another day
caption in color ink

There is a famous Turkish actor that once in an interview said, “I have never worked a day in my life.”
He  enjoys what he does and it obviously shows as he is very good at what he does.

I also always hear my father saying “I am having fun. What is this, work? We don’t work, we live, we enjoy what we do and make a living out of it.”

I must state that although he is an architect and the most artsy person I know, he “works” very hard. He is always on the run, always productive and creative. If that doesn’t teach me the key of life, I don’t know what will.

🙂

Being blown away with the invention I just had; I doodled something at the office, only to realize, this *thing* I love passionately should give me the life I deserve!

So here you go; the text should tell it all.

Anyway, though, I am still very young and working at a design office *as well as* making free lance work is not tiring me at all ! Not yet anyways, but I would definitely want to resign. Making everyone so happy with my t-shirts so that I am very happy with my creations and earnings! That’s the goal 🙂

Have a super nice week, everyone!

Bang bang!

For those of you who are as keen on classic songs as me, this print goes for them.

I used to love the soft voice Nancy Sinatra, but I do appreciate the lyrics, so every cover is fine for me ! The original of the song is by Cher, written by Sonny Bono and released in 1966.

You can listen to this beautiful song here.

Although it is a sad song, it bears some kind of romance and beauty. Anyways, I like the lyrics, a lot, and due to the fact that I illustrate quotes I find meaningful, this fits perfectly.

Have a nice week everyone and enjoy!!
