Yet another version of “Stressed- Desserts” Combo

So, my best client- my father- asked me to do a design with bold letters and thick colors; preferably with switched letters! With so much restriction, I didn’t have the only thing I needed; The Quote!
But I checked into my portfolio, only to find “stressed – desserts” combo! It would be perfect! I thought, with so many letters available for switching and turning and playing around. ๐
The message itself is like worthy too, He always has been the laid-back kinda guy.
So here it is, the final work!
Enjoy,

Madonna (upcoming) Concert Goodies…
As I have made my promise, earlier today, I am now posting more concert t-shirts I made for clients. They gave me absolutely no idea and/or inspiration tips to help create my design process, but I think they turned out pretty well !

Have you seen the “surprise” notes on the side? I think they are *adorable* ๐
I wanted something Music theme-y, so I came up with turning the actual word into notes, and always something playful helps, so I added” Play”. Hah, I have NO sense of humor.

Oh and Frozen. Oooooh Frozen. Boy, do I love that song. I think it’s very meaningful and has a *teaching vibe* even back in the day, when modern day self-helps and positive thinkings were not so much widespread.
The beat is splendid and exquisite as well. I just love that song. And also Ray of Light. And all of that album. Gaaaaaah, I’m ranting:/ ย I might make myself one and wear it as I phone-listen to friends shaking it at the actual event. ๐ฆ

I’ll keep you posted for even more concert t-shirts and more!

Behind the Scenes, the Making Process!
I had this documenting-my-work-as-I-go thought in my mind for a while, but with this specific order I got from a collage friend, (who is very picky on things and likes them neat!) I decided to photograph my very basic steps.
The very first step to creation is- of course- come up with a design. I chill for a little bit, lounge, browse the web, listen to music, I don’t know, I do something that ย would alert my insides to sketch something.
After that part has come, I SKETCH! Doodle, play around, make variations of stuff what I like best, and what I assume the client would like best.
Then comes the application part. First I draw with a pencil. Because when I make mistakes, I can easily erase them. I align the design, set the size and draw!

After I manage to get through the pile of markers and tubes of paint and tons of sketch papers, I see my beautiful t-shirt between the clouds :p
I decide the colors, as in the sketch something may look good, but on the actual t-shirt, it is a whole new story. With white, i can guesstimate close enough, but especially with darker fabrics, I improvise, umm, almost always!
Besides, the textile paint comes in variations (glitter, metallic) of textures which is hard to mimic on sketch version. So basically, once I have the design idea, I play as I go. ๐

So you can see I already took a tube of red paint and started applying the design! This part is both fun and scary, because I don’t want to mess up big time with textile paint. I mean, If I do something tiny I can save it right away when it’s wet, but major screw ups are a No-no !
And the FINALE !

Hope she appreciates the fact that I documented my steps and creation process for the Upcoming Madonna concertย in Turkey this June.
I will do more Madonna T-shirts posts in the coming days!
Cheers,

If You Are Stressed, Turn it Around, You Have a Cupcake!

We have a common notion, us humans. Whenever we are stressed, we get more and more and more stressed ! Then we can’t solve problems *because* we are stressed, we get even more frustrated because we can’t solve a problem. It is all a chain reaction with stress.
But I believe (and it is encouraged) to stop for a second, hit the pause and *then* analyze the situation. Most the time it isn’t half as bad, besides, when you take time to observe the ongoing situation, you have a clearer view and more peaceful mind to deal with the issue.
Of course, same with everything, practice and persistence makes perfect.
“It isn’t so easy!!” you may yell over there, hey, no one said anyone gets off without practicing.
But let me put your mind at ease, it ain’t so hard, either.
Everytime you are “stressed”, try to flip the words, you get a sweet sweet “desserts” ! ๐
That being a metaphor, my point is, life is in perfect harmony, every single being, occasion, place has its perfect balance of good and evil. The choice is ours to make. One can look at an issue and see it as complete disaster, while another person could see the opportunity and blessing at the exact same subject.

Try, you’ll see, it works wonders!
Good day to you all:)
Oh, and don’t forget to wear it around, maybe it’ll get easer to see things sweeter.. ๐

Play Outdoors!
Probably one of the things I feel sad about kids today is, that they don’t get to enjoy outdoors any more. I mean, even if they *tried* to enjoy, there aren’t enough spaces like grass and play grounds. Not in cosmopolite cities anyway.
I’m not saying that computers and video games are *totally* bad ( heck, I even learned English playing video games!) but they absolutely don’t compare to outdoor activities.
A child’s mood, inner peace and connection with other beings in the world are directly related with spending time in the nature, interacting with animals and plants. At least I firmly believe so. And when I have a kid, I will make sure she/he spends plenty of time playing outdoors.
I didn’t mean it to be a promotional campaign kinda t-shirt, but I do enjoy the message it is giving!
Here is the shirt version of it, I liked how the colors turned out.
Do yourself a favor, and try to save sometime to walk, have a tea outside, or just play with your pet.
Connect with the world you live in !

I love shirts with writings!
I really do.ย
I was working on an order, but having a “designer’s block” (hah! I laugh at myself as I write this, but hey) so I decided to do some rough drafts. I had a long tunic tshirt laying around, kinda like loungewear, you know. I don’t really wear it to sleep, but I don’t wear it outside either. (well, save for running errands maybe)ย
After I unnecessarily elaborate the piece of fabric to you guys, I drew my design on! This is a permanent textile marker, not the 3D velvety paints I usually use. I don’t like to spend those precious paint on rough drafts, but I don’t like the look of textile marker very much either. But this one turned out pretty good. Maybe it’s the color of the marker, the texture of the shirt, or the stars were aligned, who knows?
Anyhow, here you go!
Love,ย
